Mor Hafren: Energy Recovery Facility

I am objecting to the proposed incinerator at Newlands Road, Wentloog as it will produce dangerous levels of pollution for residents both from the gases emitted and from the increased traffic transporting the waste. It is extremely close to schools and residential developments and residents should not have to suffer further deterioration to the air quality in a city where it is already too high. The roads leading to the proposed facility are already congested without further traffic adding to the problem. There are other options that can and should be explored that would cause less damage to the environment. I also worry that a facility like this will create an incentive to incinerate not recycle and damage the will to explore other options for waste management and this surely goes against the environmental targets Wales should be working towards. Please think of the future our children will inherit.
